A Silent Era Ends

Kurtz -

This week, our search has grown...silent and expressive. It's a changing time for us; we are each adapting as best we can and finding new voices. Today, the Lovely One, at her favorite brunch hotspot, is being showered with gifts for the Fox! Mastermind masterminded the whole thing! A true friend indeed. Kelly tried to shrug it off, but you can tell she was delighted.

"Out with the old, in with the new!"

Meanwhile, I remain at base camp to memorialize the convoluted ramblings your flight has left me. I see now that no amount of mere sweat and gumption will allow me to overtake you and your mystery muchacho. In my despair, I turn again to science. Considering my limited instant extant resources, I will begin by testing a new mapping technology, despite its reliance on other people's satellites (no, I do not have my own. That is half my problem). But what can one do? I am testing this new technology first in an ecclesiastical context, which has become quite urgent given a certain discussion I recently took with a local banker-cum-bishop concerning visits.

"Really? That low?"

First I remedy the visits, then I remedy my fruitless search of KURTZ and all that entails. With this new tool, I will map whole lists of addresses (and eventually, your far-flung coordinates) and better deploy my agents, each month. I trust the president will be pleased!

"Seventy-Five Percent!"

So, Kurtz, reflect fondly on another era silently sliding by, as new sounds of technology, ever hunting, ever haunting, await you--the rediscovered genius revealed and brought close once again. All ushered in with the arrival of our little Artist.

The Dynamic Expedition

Kurtz,

There is so much to tell! But your latest query demands first address. What Fox qualities do we anticipate? This is our earliest suspicion:
1. Wit beyond measure, as man's greatest treasure, with a liberal sprinkle of daring, nerve, and chivalry.
2. First in the hearts of his countrymen.
3. Very tall and strong but intelligent and smiling.
4. He shall give, from the very first glance, the impression of a significant, an uncommon, and unusually gifted man, intellectual, abnormally delicate and mobile play of features which reflect a soul of extremely emotional and unusually delicate sensibility, with more thought than other men, and calm objectivity, with certainty of thought and knowledge.
5. A splendid mind, that if all thought is like the keyboard of a piano or like the alphabet ranging from A-Z, he shall have no trouble running over those letter firmly and accurately until he reaches, say, R. Also, he shall grow to look like a king in exile.
6. He shall be my best friend.

Or, in short, something like this:

I look forward to learning how close I have come in my premonitions! But a vernal equinox child? Promising!

In other news, the adage of keeping friends close and enemies closer makes no provision for family of the Lovely One. Our base camp is adding further explorers! All the way from the continental divide! Divine! So baby makes one, and his retinue makes several.

As you can see, our company is growing larger, but stronger too. Yours truly cycled about eighty miles this week. Some of it over the most beautiful terrain this earth can offer.

It is a wonderful place. We are following you and changing for the better. Your slalom better be up to snuff, and may the neophyte MAN OF MYSTERY prove adept once more.

P.S. Mastermind is in good spirits with all her chemical experiments.

Mustache Bache

Kurtz -

I am a lone man with its eyes open, quite passive, recording, not thinking, as the Lovely One has traveled to a "Mustache Bash" held in honor of the Fox. Mastermind accompanied her, and they have met with good company and cheer. And gifts. Perhaps this?

The spittin' image, I dare say! The Fox will travel back with Mastermind and the Lovely One well in time for his scheduled arrival of March 20, although we have not received a firm commitment from him as to that day. Perhaps he can be persuaded to keep that day, for March 20 is the beginning of Spring this year, and what better cosmic sign can be offered than the Vernal Equinox? It bodes well for both balance and optimism!

So I am alone tonight, but don't get any ideas, because my spirits remain high and my vigilance pronounced. Our search begins in earnest on their return here, but cherish these easy, peaceful moments while you can. Catch your breath. Perhaps you are recovering from emcee duties last ngiht, a Valentine's Dinner lip-synch with thirty sober couples and the crooning of the Supremes, the King, the Cake, and the Brothers Gibb. Perhaps that is someone else. Rest easy while you can.

Circles for YOU

Kurtz -

Your last missive filled me with glee! Those days of glory remain with me always! Could anything more lovely accompany on my travels? One day in particular stands out; SM and Pistols, a wide Elysium where your heroic feats will live forever, and the inexorable truth manifest once more: there is no substitute for speed!

In acknowledgment of your skills and wit (dermis of swine indeed!), I offer my latest thoughts on the matter. Consider it a gift for your Super Sunday enjoyment. They are my new plans for leading the next hodgepodge of athletes in a huddle.
The copies are admittedly crude, but please! You understand the difficulties of penning on the move! An explanation: these are for a base offense. What an offense can fall back on when no special play is called. The athletes may be directed with a very simple "Circles-In-Right," which would mean the routes listed on the Circles In are run, with athletes three and four performing the double moves (i.e. slant to fly, fly to cross) whereas athletes 1 and 2, who were not specified, would run the first leg of their circle only (i.e. a fly route, and a quick out). This empowers the passer to know where the hot-read is, the deep threat, and allows for receivers to line up quickly. It will even allow for audibles! When the middle is clogged with linebackers, switch from "Circles-In" to "Circles Out Double" (meaning all athletes run both routes) and you have two slants underneath the linebackers in case of a blitz and two deep out-routes.away from the middle. I am excited to try this. I only wish there was a certain athlete here to try it with...I am interested in your thoughts, your successes, and, if possible, the opinion of the cerebral Kurtz himself!

Tomorrow, Mastermind and LD(F) con BF and the Royal Society shall join for a Super Sunday. I shall dine on either NY Cheesecake or Boston Cream Pi, depending on the Lovely One's predictions! Your predictions?
