A momentous week to be sure, in both camps. Our tiny excursion of two, though oft times supported by colleagues and supporters of various ilk, has at last added a third full-fledged member in a permanent capacity. Though guileless and generally inexperienced in all fields, he brings a refreshing charm that has lifted the already-high spirits of our camp immeasurably.
We went to meet him during a stormy afternoon and he arrived in the darkest recesses of Sunday morning via the most traditional of courses. We exchanged a few words, discussed the terms of his employ, and shook on the deal.
"Agreed!"
The next day we celebrated with a sunrise viewing, where I introduced him to a view of the wide world with different valley colors he had never seen and the cloud-breaking sun.We then shared a fine meal and relaxed with waves of family paying homage and tribute to the tiny pilgrim. He lasted only a few hours longer before making the second-biggest transition of his life: to base camp. He rolled out his finest owlrey and we departed victorious!
We then returned to base camp, stopping only for a celebratory treat, a worthy capstone for the weekend of ecstasy our tiny friend brought upon us.
"Shake n' Baby"
Our joy has been tempered only by a certain agony that has befallen the Man of Mystery and his splendid crew, striking blindly from the dark interiors of Africa, a worthy madness to befall his maniacal brilliance. We eagerly anticipate news of his triumph. We sing our deepest sympathies and hopes across this land to his ears and yours.- Marlowe
