Our good luck continues! First; the Lovely One got herself done certified, glasses and all!
Now that we can tend to our own orbits, the satellites are sure to follow. I will post updates on the other Mantles of Grandeur as I complete them. Maybe I can put a whole patch of Jupiter on the ginormous GoatMaster Robe.
Second, I met someone who was even wiser than the Wizard! (Don't tell him I said that). It was a True Witness, and he came a thousand miles to discourse in the coastal plains.
Truly! He was there! And I was! And he spoke for an hour about Oaths and Covenants and Authorities and Returning and Reporting and Magnifying and Stewardships and Quorums. I felt privileged and renewed to learn in his commanding presence. He said that he had traveled up and down the state, instructing all manner of men, not because he was assigned but because he wanted to. True love.
Third, we learned our Snapemaster B is engaged to marry! Splendid! To a first-rate fellow and fine conversationalist. Smiles abound in our camp at this news, as a victory for one House is salubrious for all, I think you, my dear Gryffindor, would agree. Perhaps we will cross paths again, when this is on display:

Marlowe,
ReplyDeleteI am aware that it has been some time since I last wrote – please do not think I have been ignoring your epistles. Quite the contrary. You would be interested to know that my silence was instead a consequence of geography. The dark continent beckoned me, and I found myself lured back into that land where you first found me. Perhaps had you known, it would have played to your favor again? Or perhaps not. While the beguiling whispers of the Congo forever cloud my mind, and perhaps my judgment, this time my travels brought me further southward, through the verdant veldts and into the biting sands of the Namib. With my local companions – a Shona and Oshiherero - we transversed the country. Blazing images of kudu, oryx, baboon, ostrich, warthog, and the noble and enthralling goat by the wayside flicker still in my mind (these sightings were mostly but brief flashes – I was managing our transport after the British fashion, which requires of one a bit more concentration). The names of the desert outposts – Keetmanshoop, Luderitz, Aus, Rehoboth - hint of the German and Dutch colonizers, cloaking their true desolation.
But despite the intoxicating allure of that land, which each time threatens to capture me and hold onto me eternally, I am now home. I credit the Man Unknown with my successful escape, for I have found that being without him is something that I have become familiar with, but never accustomed to. But I am home only briefly, for in but three days time I am traveling to visit Mastermind. My hope is that, if not impeded by the plans of the Fox, that I may also be able to see you and the Lovely One. This would be a celebrated occasion, which would be only augmented by the additional celebration of the betrothal of Snapemaster B (truly Joyous!) I believe that her intended is a Gryffindor, which of course endears him to me even more.

We will be thinking of you Wednesday.
